Nursery Ministry

Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.

-Matthew 19:14

Whether your child is an infant or a 5-year-old, there is a special place for him or her at Westminster to grow in the love and knowledge of God!

The nursery is a vital part of our church and Children’s Ministry. The preschool years are a crucial time in a child’s life in which the social, emotional, physical and spiritual foundation is laid for a lifetime. We take our responsibility seriously and realize that we have an unequaled opportunity to positively influence these little gifts from God. The nursery is provided for all regular services and church activities for ages 6 weeks to up to 5 years.

Kids’ Ministry

WEDNESDAY NIGHTS For Kids

Regular involvement within the church is something we believe plays a crucial role in the growth and development of our families. Our Wednesday night program consists of time for the children’s choir for those K3 - 6th Grade. Immediately following, we provide classes based on the Gospel Project curriculum for K3-K5 and 1st-3rd Grade and a Catechism Class for 4th - 6th Grade.

children’s SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES

Children’s Sunday School is divided into age groups (K3 – K5, 1st – 3rd grade, and 4th – 6th grade) and is taught by various members and officers with a great desire to see the covenant children of Westminster grow up in the “nurture and admonition of the Lord.” (Eph. 6:4) We are guided by the scriptures in our approach to this God-honoring task.

Psalm 34:11
Come, O children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD. (ESV)

Proverbs 22:6
Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it. (ESV)

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School is a ministry of Westminster Presbyterian Church that seeks to fulfill the mission of ministering to our own covenant children while also providing an avenue for kingdom growth. In early June, VBS is offered to children K4 through 6th grade by utilizing crafts, music, and games in addition to biblical teaching as a means of growing them in the grace and knowledge of their Lord and Savior.

Youth Ministry

For God’s glory and by his grace we seek to impact our community and the world by raising up students who are transformed by the Gospel and serving others. To accomplish this goal, we provide a variety of spiritual growth opportunities through teaching, worship, service, fellowship, and fun!

We believe that relationships are a primary avenue of influence in the lives of students. Just as Christ lived among his disciples and loved them in the context of growing relationships, a primary goal of the youth ministry is to develop purposeful relationships with and between students. Beginning with relationships, strengthened by teaching God’s Word, and nurtured through various fellowship and service opportunities, we desire to see the hearts of students captivated by the love of Christ and transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit. We also seek to lead the students to a practical understanding of what it means to integrate their faith in Christ to every aspect of their lives.

Finally, we desire to affirm the family and come alongside rather than replace this God-appointed unit in the lives of students. As such, we welcome and encourage support from the parents of the youth, ranging from praying for the students, youth director, and volunteer leaders, to helping with fundraisers, as well as hosting or chaperoning activities and trips.

Sunday 9:00 am - Youth Sunday School Class

Wednesday 6:00 pm - Youth Group

There are other events and gatherings scheduled periodically for the Youth.

Music Ministry

Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth! Serve the LORD with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! - Psalm 100:1-2

Music is an important part of the ministry here at Westminster. There are many opportunities for you to share your gifts. Sanctuary Choir, hand bells, and instrumental groups and solos are just some of the ministries for you to consider. For those thespians out there, drama is often a key component of our seasonal presentations.

Find your place to serve! See Dave Graeser, Director of Music Ministries for more information.

Adult Ministry

Families

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.” – Deuteronomy 6:4-9

Westminster’s Families ministry seeks to encourage and equip parents in their relationships with Christ, their families, their church, and their community. We believe that Christ-centered love is the ultimate key to successful marriages and households, and we seek to know Him more deeply and to glorify him in these contexts. Our Sunday school class, which is geared toward young adults and parents of elementary age children, offers topical studies with rich, authentic discussions, driven by Scripture, and focused on the truth of God’s Word experienced in the lives of those in the group. We extend relationship building opportunities through fellowship lunches, family outings and retreats.

As a model for covenant community, we look to the fellowship of believers in Acts chapter 2, who devoted themselves to the teaching of God’s word, to each other, and to worship; were in each other’s homes, and the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

Women In Ministry

“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.” – Psalm 19:14

Our Women in Ministry program provides opportunities for women, as individuals and in groups, to grow in the knowledge of Christ and to have an avenue for ministry.  WIM affords support for women of various interests by providing fellowship including personal contacts, special events, outreach, Circles, and Bible study groups.  Our goal is two-fold:  Maturing in Christ through Bible study and prayer and ministering in Christ through fellowship and outreach.

50+

O God, from my youth you have taught me, and I still proclaim your wondrous deeds. – Psalm 71:17-18

Our “seasoned saints” are a treasure to our church. Age shouldn’t slow you down, nor diminish your desire to experience the joy of deep fellowship. If you or your spouse are 50 years of age or older, you have yet another way to taste and see the goodness of the Lord through this ministry. We meet on occasion in different venues for any number of reasons, all of which seek to connect us more fully into the body of Christ.

Disability Ministry

At Westminster we believe that individuals with disabilities are indispensable to the body of Christ (1 Cor 12:22). We are committed to serving individuals with disability by providing accessibility to their unique needs and helping them become vital members of WPC. Ultimately, we desire to share the riches of Jesus Christ and the power of His life-transforming presence to all people.
