“In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.” – Acts 20:35

At Westminster, we want to encourage and equip God’s people to boldly go into the community, advancing God’s kingdom through service, discipleship, and sharing the gospel. Jesus, our servant leader, knelt and washed the feet of his disciples, showing them the full extent of his love. We follow his example when we humbly serve and teach, meeting both physical and spiritual needs of those in our community. So often, the testimony of those who serve is that the blessings they receive far exceed those which they give.

Outreach Opportunities

Love in Action – Volunteers lead a bible study for men in a “half-way” house who are striving to avoid returning to prison, and assist with an inner-city children’s program.

Mason Elementary School – Westminster has adopted a local elementary school where we provide tutoring and other support programs.

Special Needs Ministry – We believe individuals with special needs are a blessing from God. It is our joy to offer occasional “night outs” for special needs children and their siblings.

New Avenues – Westminster has a vision to see redemption come to the avenues of Laurel. Through work projects, back yard bible clubs, and other programs, we desire to be the hands and feet of Christ to our neighbors.

Youth Service – An important part of our youth ministry is providing opportunities for our young men and women to serve through volunteering at the Christian Food Mission, works projects at Westminster, and occasional service projects in the community.
